Professional Hopes
and Goals
As
we come to the end of this course I must say when it comes to diversity, equity
and social justice I have gained a new perspective of the challenges, issues and
adversities we have encountered at some point in our lives. You all have
shared your life experiences and so have I. I think the most important lesson I
have learned from all of you is we are survivors and we have grown a stronger determination to make the lives of the children and families we work positive
and successful. My hope is to be the educator that embaces the diversity of families and to be a spokes people for the social justices of children and families.
Thank you Sheila for the insights that I have read in your blogs. I have really enjoyed getting to know you through your blog entries as well as your discussion posts. I like the word that you used to describe us. Survivors. We have all survived trying times in our lives it is true but we have also survived learning about the isms in this class and the lessons that we have all learned will help us as we go our different directions as early childhood professionals. I wish you luck in your future endeavors.

Through your blogs you have a unique talented for “telling stories” and allowing readers to deeply visuals positions at hand. I too believe as educators we should constantly advocate for equity and social justice for all young children and their families. I hope you continue to break down barriers through your work as a passionate professional in hopes of eliminating all critically issues which negatively affect the lives of so many young children!
